PhD student position in Grid-forming converter for wind power applications, Chalmers, Sweden

ساخت وبلاگ
Information about the project
The aim of this project is to provide wind power with the same grid-forming properties of a conventional synchronous generator, allowing higher penetration of wind power into the power systems as compared with what can be achieved with today’s solutions. In particular, the goal is to develop a coordinated control between the wind farm and an energy storage system, with focus on the overall control scheme and the services that this kind of systems can provide to the power system. Another important target of the project is related to the proper dimensioning of the energy storage and a feasibility study for different types of energy storage for wind applications, with special focus on batteries and fuel cells.

The project will be carried out at Chalmers University in collaboration with relevant industrial partners, such as ABB and Vestas, and with Svenska Kraftnät (Swedish Transmission System Operator) and Vattenfall (Distribution System Operator).
