Postdoctoral position: Communication-Assisted Protection in a Converter Dominated Medium-Voltage Microgrid, Chalmers, Sweden

Information about the project
This project is a postdoc project with supervision from the Division of Electric Power Engineering and the Division of Communication and Antenna Systems at Chalmers as well as from ABB Corporate Research Center in Sweden.

The main aim of the project is to investigate, propose and verify an effective and cost-efficient fault-protection strategy to minimize the need to over-dimension the converters in a medium voltage microgrid system utilizing digital communication technology. Another additional aim is to attract external research funding in the area.

Major responsibilities
Your major responsibility as postdoc is to conduct the research project. The position also includes other departmental duties, mainly teaching on undergraduate and master's levels as well as supervising master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.

Position summary
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must have a doctoral degree within the field of electric power engineering. You are expected to be somewhat accustomed to teaching, and to demonstrate good potential within research and education.

The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. It is meritorious if you are able to conduct teaching in Swedish. Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
